Health

Saunas aren't suitable for everyone. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition or any other medical condition, or take medication, talk to your GP before using a sauna.

Planning and electrical rules

  • Whether a garden sauna is exempt from planning depends on your property, including its planning history and any conditions on earlier permissions. Only your council or An Coimisiún Pleanála can rule on that.
  • Electrical work in your home must be done by a registered electrical contractor. Our guides explain the rules; they don't replace an electrician's assessment of your home.

Prices and running costs

Prices are taken from sellers' own websites on the date shown on each page. They change often, may be sale prices, and may or may not include delivery and installation. Running costs are estimates from published heater ratings, stated assumptions and an average electricity price. Always confirm the current price with the seller, and use your own tariff in our calculators.
