How we price
Every price on Home Sauna Guide is one an Irish seller lists on its own website. Every running cost shows the heater size, minutes and electricity price behind it, so you can check it or redo it with your own figures.
Sauna prices
- What we record: the model, its type, the number of people the seller says it fits, the listed price and the page it came from. We currently track 42 prices from 9 sellers.
- As listed: prices are shown as the seller lists them, including VAT. Where the seller says "from", so do we. Sale prices can end without notice.
- What's included varies. Some prices include delivery or fitting; most don't include a base or electrical work. Our guides say this wherever it matters.
- Ranges and middle prices are worked out from the models we've recorded, not every sauna on the market.
- Paid placements never change a price. See our editorial policy.
Running costs
We use one sum everywhere: heater power (kW) × hours the heater is on × the electricity price per kWh.
- Electricity price: 40.64c per kWh, the average Irish unit price for October 2026 from Selectra's price index. It leaves out standing charges, which you pay whether or not you have a sauna.
- Heater power: ratings published by Irish sellers and heater manufacturers.
- Warm-up and session: infrared 20 minutes to warm up and a 30-minute session, with the panels on throughout. Traditional 40 minutes to warm up and a 45-minute session, with the heater on half the time once hot. These sit within published heat-up ranges of 15 to 25 minutes for infrared and 20 to 45 minutes for traditional.
- A month is 52 ÷ 12 = 4.33 weeks.

How often we check
We review every price and the electricity price at least every three months, and sooner when a seller tells us something has changed. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
